Jeffco-based Quantinuum has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mitsubishi Electric to form a strategic partnership focused on advancing quantum computing applications for industrial engineering and design. This collaboration aims to explore various industrial use cases and develop next-generation engineering workflows through the use of quantum technology.
Under the agreement, the two companies plan to concentrate on areas such as computer-aided engineering and simulation applications. Quantinuum will offer access to its advanced quantum systems and advice on algorithm development, while Mitsubishi Electric will provide expertise in specific engineering areas like electromagnetic analysis and structural analysis.
“We are pleased to begin this collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric as we work toward meaningful quantum utility to industrial engineering,” said Dr. Rajeeb Hazra, President and CEO of Quantinuum.
Mitsubishi Electric expressed enthusiasm about evaluating the potential of quantum technologies to benefit industrial engineering and contribute positively to society and the environment. Both firms believe that working together now could position them advantageously as the adoption of quantum technology progresses. They aim to identify and develop opportunities that may lead to technological innovation and sustained value for industries worldwide.
