In September, the Colorado Gives Foundation awarded $5.7 million to nonprofits working in Jefferson County. This funding is the largest the community foundation has ever made available to nonprofits serving Jeffco.
The Foundation originally planned to award about $4 million, but over $8 million in requests indicated significant need. In response, the Foundation allocated an additional $1.7 million in funding.
“The work our partners are doing in Jeffco aligns seamlessly with our impact areas of Collective Wellbeing, Economic Freedom and Vibrant Communities,” said Savinay Nathan, the Foundation’s community impact vice president. “Together, we are working to ensure all of Jeffco is thriving.”
A total of $5,701,387 was awarded across six focus areas, including:
- Food Security: 42 organizations ($1,157,228)
- Housing: 22 organizations ($838,000)
- Early Care + Education: 14 organizations ($345,500)
- Workforce Development: 21 organizations ($623,700)
- Health: 80 organizations ($2,528,959)
- Convenient Neighborhoods: 5 organizations ($208,000)
