Gogo Moves Closer to Full Production of Galileo FDX Antenna

Gogo Inc. (NASDAQ: GOGO) has received Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) from the Federal Aviation Administration for its Gogo Galileo FDX antenna. With this approval, the global Gogo dealer network is moving forward with Supplemental Type Certificate generation for super-midsize and larger aircraft types, marking a step toward full-scale production and sales of the FDX electronically steered antenna (ESA).

Designed for business aviation, the FDX ESA is built for easy installation and optimizes the use of the Eutelsat OneWeb low-earth orbit satellite constellation, supporting high-speed broadband with download speeds of up to 195Mbps and upload speeds of 32Mbps throughout the cabin. The antenna connects simply to the Gogo AVANCE system and is tailored for super-midsize and larger aircraft accommodating multiple passengers with various devices.

Broomfield-based Gogo achieved PMA for the Gogo Galileo FDX antenna shortly after securing the same milestone for its HDX antenna. This highlights Gogo’s aim to provide connectivity solutions tailored to different business, VVIP, head of state, and military/government aircraft sizes, the company said. The FDX antenna can be installed on new aircraft or retrofitted for cabin upgrades, ensuring continuous global connectivity.

“With this Gogo Galileo FDX PMA approval we are demonstrating our continuing commitment to opening up a new world of connectivity for more aircraft owners and operators than ever before,” said Chris Moore, CEO of Gogo. “With the addition of the FDX to our portfolio of agnostic connectivity solutions, we can deliver consistent global connectivity that satisfies the diverse needs of the dynamic business aviation sector,” he added.

Installation of the FDX antenna is expected to be minimally invasive, allowing for reduced downtime. The software-driven antenna is designed to be futureproof and optimized for quick satellite switching to provide reliable high-speed broadband service. Commercial service is anticipated to begin in late 2025.
