Aclarion wins AI innovation award for low back pain

Aclarion, a healthcare technology company, said it has received an award for AI Innovation in the Clinical Decision AI category for its work using artificial intelligence to help physicians identify the location of chronic low back pain.

The company said the recognition is for its Nociscan solution, which uses MR spectroscopy-based biomarker analysis to help determine whether a disc’s chemical profile is consistent with a painful or non-painful disc. It added that physicians use the information along with imaging, clinical evaluation, and their own expertise to plan treatment for discogenic low back pain.

Aclarion said the award followed earlier recognition in 2025 HLTH Digital Health Awards and Pinnacle Awards, and that together the awards reflect growing external validation of its mission to incorporate objective biomarker analysis into clinical decision-making.

The company also said Nociscan is delivered through a cloud-based analytics platform, intended to be deployed across imaging centers and health systems without requiring new hardware infrastructure.

The announcement is newsworthy because it highlights additional external validation for an AI-based approach aimed at improving how chronic low back pain is evaluated and treated, an area the company describes as widespread and costly.
